Military personnel who have lost their sight as a result of injuries or combat operations face enormous difficulties in their daily lives. However, thanks to our involvement in a research project, some of them are getting a chance at a new life. One of our patients, Max, is undergoing specialized training at a biotechnology university in Spain, where he is being helped to restore partial or even full vision using electronic prostheses. This project not only changes the lives of specific people, but also represents hope for the future for all those who face similar problems.
